Handbuilding Foundations | 6 Week Course | Ceramics Workshops | February, March & April 2023
This is the handbuilding foundations six week course - a crash course in handbuilding with clay and glazing! The course consists of six 2 hour sessions running weekly over of six weeks.
Week one 28/02/23
Use hump moulds to create a two piece dinner set . You will make a selection of plates and bowls and have the choice to add texture.
Week two 07/03/23
Learn the ancient technique of pinching to create a set of small pinch pots. You will have time to make around three pots and add texture or decoration.
Week three 17/03/23
You will coil clay to create a vase or vessel of your choosing.
Week four 21/03/23
Build using slabs to create a pair of mugs.
Week five 28/03/23
You have the opportunity to use the skills you have learnt in previous weeks to create more pots of your choosing with the guidance of Hollie.
Week six 4/04/23
This week you will have access to various decorating materials and glazes to decorate the work you have made up until now!
The workshops are run by Hollie from Nice Pear Ceramics in her studio and are small, casual and cosy.
All materials and use of tools are included and your work will be fired and glazed ready for you to collect or be posted to you for a small fee in around 4 weeks.
