Handbuilding Foundations | 6 Week Course | Ceramics Workshops | October & November 2022
This is the handbuilding foundations six week course - a crash course in handbuilding and glazing! The course consists of six 2 hour sessions running weekly over of six weeks.
Week one 25/10/2022
Use hump moulds to create a two piece dinner set . You will make a plate and a bowl and have the choice to add texture.
Week two 01/11/2022
Learn the ancient technique of pinching to create a set of small pinch pots. You will make three pots and add texture or decoration.
Week three 08/11/2022
You will coil clay to create a vase or vessel of your choosing.
Week four 15/11/2022
Build using slabs to create a pair of mugs.
Week five 22/11/2022
You have the opportunity to use the skills you have learnt in previous weeks to create more pots of your choosing with the guidance of Hollie.
Week six 29/11/2022
This week you will have access to various decorating materials and glazes to decorate the work you have made up until now!
The workshops are run by Hollie from Nice Pear Ceramics in her studio and are small, casual and cosy.
All materials and use of tools are included and your work will be fired and glazed ready for you to collect or be posted to you for a small fee in around 4 weeks.
Tuesday Evenings - 25th of October- 29th of November
2 hours, 06:30 PM - 08:30 PM
Studio 3, Hotwalls, Point Battery, Broad Street,
£250 per person (this includes all material and firing costs)
Work stations will be distanced and all surfaces and tools sanitised.
Please note that if you become unwell or are unable to make the workshop for any reason you will receive a full refund as long as I am able to fill the space. Please contact me if this is the case.
If the workshop is unable to go ahead due to lockdown restrictions or if Hollie becomes unwell, the workshop will be rescheduled.
