Handbuilding Intermediates | 6 Week Course| Ceramics Workshops | February & March 2024
This is the handbuilding intermediate six week course - a step up from the handbuilding foundations course with clay and glazing! The course consists of six 2 hour sessions running weekly over of six weeks. The sessions are loosely structured so you can follow along on the weekly project or use the time to make whatever pieces you prefer.
Week one 25/02/24
Use pinching and coiling techniques to create candlestick holders.
Week two 3/03/24
Use slabs to make wall mounted vases or flat vases.
Week three 10/03/24
Use a mix of dark and light clay to create a selection of marble mugs and plates.
Week four 17/03/24
Coil clay to make large vessels such as vases and plant pots.
Week five 24/03/24
You will learn to decorate some of the pots you have made so far using underglazes and underglaze pencils.
**Please note there's is a break between week five and six on Easter Sunday**
Week six 07/05/24
This week you will have access to various glazes to decorate the rest of your work!
The workshops are run by Hollie from Nice Pear Ceramics in her studio and are small, casual and cosy.
All materials and use of tools are included and your work will be fired and glazed ready for you to collect or be posted to you for a small fee in around 4 weeks.
Sunday Evenings - 25th of February - 7th April
Each session is 2 hours, 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM
Studio 3, Hotwalls, Point Battery, Broad Street,
£250 per person (this includes all material and firing costs)

The workshops are held in a working studio with potential hazards such as the use of sharp tools. By booking onto a workshop you are agreeing to take full responsibility of your own health and safety, and in the event of an accident or injury assume all risks.
